Keep the fitness momentum going this summer

You’ve been working hard since Easter to get yourself summer body-ready or you’ve finally got a place where you feel more flexible and stronger…and then the holidays come along. Most of us take some time to head off for a break, or entertain guests, or just try to juggle the challenges the school holidays bring. Sometimes this can lead to your exercise programme coming to a halt, often exacerbated by classes being cancelled by fitness instructors also facing the same summer holiday conundrum.

This seems such a shame when you have already worked so hard and have got into a routine – dare we say, a habit – that is truly beneficial. You have gone to so much trouble to feel fitter, but the summer holidays threaten to undo all that good work and essentially let it go to waste. Add on the extra calories that come with entertaining and holidays, and summer suddenly feels like a massive hurdle to overcome.

Let’s not panic. Summer should be fun. However, I would still urge you to keep up your exercise habits if you can, but if you are struggling to get to a class or to find any time, I have a solution for you! Get online! You can attend one – or all – of my online classes and not miss a beat in your quest to be fitter, stronger and happier.

My online classes all start at 8am so you can get them done before anyone else gets up or (if you have little ones) before you head out for the day.

On Mondays, we do strength; Tuesdays is all about Zumba; and on Wednesdays, I teach a Pilates class. This is the perfect combination to work all your muscles, maintain a healthy heart, and be more flexible.

You do these from the comfort of your own home. All you need is some space and a device that allows you to log into Zoom. A phone will be too small to follow the moves though, so would suggest a tablet or a laptop.

That said, my studio set-up means you can clearly see what I am doing, and I give you verbal prompts too, alongside a great a playlist. I often take a peek at you to make sure you are doing the moves right, which especially important when using weights. If you attend my strength class, you will need some hand weights and a band, but these are easily obtainable. You will need a mat for strength and Pilates too.

At the start of every class, I welcome the participants and we usually catch up afterwards too. You get to see your classmates faces and interact with them, but when the class starts, it’s all about me! 😊 So do not worry about other people looking at what you are doing. It is all done and dusted in an hour, then you are free to get on with your day.

If you cannot spare that hour at 8am or your holiday destination makes that 8am a little too early or late for your liking, then I can send you recordings too for you to do in your own time.

In short, I have all the options! I desperately want my fitness community to continue their good work and not find themselves regretting their lack of exercise come September.

You can purchase a month of online classes and unlimited recordings for just £35 so if you need more than the Monday to Wednesday online, you can do classes in your own time too to double your effort…if you want to!

If you are already part of the Lara’s Fitness community, let’s keep the wonderful momentum going and make sure your wellness journey does not veer off course! If you are new to this blog, just contact me and let me help you find a programme that fits in with your lifestyle.
